Full Review
Selkirk has been at the forefront of paddle innovation, and the Vanguard Power Air Invikta represents their most ambitious design yet. With its distinctive air vents and ProSpin+ surface, this paddle demands attention — and delivers on most of its promises.
Build & Feel
The most noticeable feature is the Air Dynamic Throat — vents cut into the paddle that Selkirk claims reduce drag. Whether the aerodynamics make a measurable difference is debatable, but the paddle undeniably has a fast swing feel. The Invikta shape is elongated, giving you reach at the net. At 7.7-8.1 oz, it sits in the medium weight class.
Performance
This is a power paddle that doesn’t sacrifice as much control as you’d expect. The ProSpin+ surface generates excellent spin. Drives and overheads feel explosive, and there’s a satisfying “pop” on hard-hit shots.
The soft game requires a bit more finesse than you’d get from a dedicated control paddle, but with practice, the Power Air can handle dink exchanges competently.
The Verdict
If your game leans aggressive — big serves, powerful drives, put-away volleys — this paddle amplifies your strengths.
